Mustang News, June 5, 2020

Good evening Mustang family!

As this unusual school year winds to a close, we look forward to a bit more fun this week. On Tuesday, we will celebrate the promotion of our 5th grade students to middle school with four outdoor ceremonies. We look forward to wishing these students well in a socially responsible manner!

MVES Camp Resource

All students are invited to participate in the YCSD virtual career fair and to attend our virtual “MVE Camp Resource” this week. These fun links will keep students engaged in Library, Music, Art, & PE this week and over the summer months. Once you access the link click "Present" in the upper right corner to interact with the campsite. Click on each resource teacher to view links related to their specialty. Also, the fire, marshmallows, and the "This Way to the Lake" sign take you to fun sites as well.

Summer Notes

Many of our families have expressed concern regarding student progress as we approach next school year. While we cannot predict what the next school year will look like, I am confident that our teachers are ready to meet the needs of each individual child. Our teachers are engaging in rigorous professional development right now, and they are designing instructional content to meet student needs this fall while continuing to make learning fun. They are committed to continuing this important work over the summer break. So, please make this summer fun and memorable for your children. Build forts, make s’mores, catch fireflies, color with sidewalk chalk, have movie nights, and – yes – read a few good books! These memories will last forever. Your hard-working and resilient children have earned a break and so have you. We’ve got the teaching and learning covered as soon as school opens!

Have a wonderful, memorable summer! We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Warmly,

Kristin Bolam, Principal
