    Our YMS Club Descriptions 2019-2020:

    Battle of the Books: Read selected books then match your knowledge against other teams! The list is ready and so are the books. BoB will not meet until November, but reading shall commence post-haste! Stop by the library to select your books.

    Chess Club: The Chess Club is open to students interested in learning and playing the 3000 year old game of Chess. Students also have the opportunity to participate in State and Local Chess Tournaments. The game of Chess promotes analytical thinking and problem-solving.

    Coding Club: Coding club mission is to inspire students to experience the world of coding with student driven activities. Students will use various coding languages to design games and apps. Space is limited to 25 per group (see Mrs. Graves for more information and to sign up).

    Drama Club: Like drama? Enjoy being the center of the stage? Drama Club might be for you! Drama Club is for students interested in acting, poetry readings, improv, set design, etc... . You will need a TICKET to attend Drama Club.  See Ms. Agnew in Room 102 for a ticket.  Seating is limited to 30 students, and tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis.  No student will be admitted to Drama Club without a Ticket.

    Gardening Club: Are you interested in learning how to grow your own food? Are you interested in a career in botany, horticulture, or landscaping? Want to make YMS a more beautiful place? Do you like getting your hands dirty? If you answered yes to any of these then come join the Gardening Club!

    Homework Club: Need a little help getting work done? Need access to a computer? The Homework Club is the place to be! It is a place where students can do their homework, work on group projects or use a computer.

    Makers Space: Makers Space is a collaborative work space inside a school, library or separate public/private facility for making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools.

    Odyssey of the Mind: Auditions required, see Mr. Myers or Mr. Sims for more details

    SCA: The Student Council Association is composed of the entire student body. Officers and representatives meet to discuss student ideas and concerns. The student leadership objective is to encourage and teach students to be leaders in school and in their communities. Our current projects include: Food Bank donations in the café and Courtyard Improvements.

    Youth Volunteer Club: Be a volunteer leader in our school by becoming a member of YVC. Work with the community and school to help those in need. We will meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Come and help us plan the exciting year ahead.
