    Article Description Color
    Shirts
    • Knit pull-over/polo-type shirt with a collar and 1-3 buttons
    • Short or long sleeve
    • Must be of a solid color without design, logo, emblems, monogram, or trim
    Gray or White
    Pants
    • Professional appearance with belt loops - the fabric is cotton and/or polyester twill
    • Young men must have button or zippered front; young women must have button or zippered side or front
    • Must be of a solid color without design, logo, emblems, monogram, or trim
    • Jeans, cargo, capri, wide-legged, and/or hip-hugger pants are not allowed
    Navy blue or khaki (tan, not green)
    Shoes 
    • Shoes should be comfortable
    • All shoes must be totally enclosed and properly laced
    • Athletic/tennis shoes, cowboy boots, knee-high boots, sandals, high heels, platforms, thongs, slides, etc. are not allowed
    Black or brown
    Belts
    • Belts should be professional in appearance
    Student Coice
    Hats
    • Head coverings, including but not limited to: caps, hats, bandannas, and/or sunglasses shall not be worn inside school buildings

    • Pierced jewelry in ears only
    • Faculty may request additional safety & professional guidelines as conditions, curriculum, or internships dictate

    • A sweater or sweatshirt may be worn over the uniform shirt with the collar visible

    • May be a cardigan or pullover, long sleeve or vest style, v-neck or round-neck

    Jackets & Coats
    • Students may wear any jacket or coat outside as weather dictates
    • Students are encouraged to use an umbrella as weather dictates
    Student Choice

    The following rules provide guidelines and specific requirements to YRA's uniform and dress code policy: Students may wear any jacket or coat outside as weather dictates.

    • The uniform should be clean, neat, and professional at all times.
    • All clothing must be size-appropriate for the student.
    • Shirts must be neatly tucked in at all times; pants must be worn at the waist, with a belt.
    • No names, inscriptions, or logos are allowed on pants, sweaters, sweatshirts, or polo shirts.
    • No additional clothing accessories such as ties, scarves, etc., are allowed.
    • Please note that neither jeans nor shorts are permitted under the daily student options.
    • Shoes must be worn at all times.
    • All other aspects of student dress and appearance not covered by this uniform dress code policy shall be governed by the York County School Division rules pertaining to student appearance.
