    Battle of the Books Club will meet from October until February. Fourth and fifth grade students will read twelve books and answer questions about each book.  Four to six students will compete in a regional contest at the end of February.

    Chrome Club is a stem (science, technology, engineering, and math) based after school club for fifth grade students. Chrome scientists investigate problems and design solutions to real world problems with hands-on activities. The chrome club hopes to encourage all children to work together and think like scientists.   Chrome will meet once a month from November through April. Sign up information will be sent out in October.


    Coding Club is open to 2nd & 3rd grade students this year. The 2nd and 3rd grade clubs will meet one day each month from October until May. Students explore many of our STEM items as well as online coding software. Permission slips will go home & must be signed and returned.

     

    D.A.R.E. Ensemble: 4th and 5th graders will have the opportunity to audition for a drum and recorder ensemble Tuesday December 4th after school. Due to equipment availability this will only be a 20 person group. We will meet in the mornings almost every Monday between January and March. A more detailed letter will go home with interested students.

     

    Girls on the Run is a non-profit program that works to encourage pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games, culminating in a celebratory 5k run. The organization's curricula seek to address all aspects of the girls' development to enhance their physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual well-being while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

     

    Lion King Jr. Musical: Dare 3rd-5th graders will have the opportunity to audition for a fully staged musical to be performed April 23rd-25th. Auditions will be held Monday December 3rd after school. Rehearsals will run after school most Mondays February-April. Any interested students should pick up a form with more information from Mr. Thompson in November.

     

    Talent Show: The talent show is open to any Dare students. Auditions will be held after school January 31st. The Final Show will be February 21st 6:30-8:00. Any interested students should pick up a form from Mr. Thompson in December.

     

    The Green Zone Club is a monthly meeting for Green Zone Ambassadors to plan school wide Green Zone initiatives and develop leadership skills.

     

    The Yearbook Club will provide 4th and 5th grade students the opportunity to design and help create the yearbook for this school year.  We will meet October through May.
