  • The Information Technology department is responsible for implementation of the division’s 1:1 Technology Program, ensuring students and staff have high-speed internet access, and providing technical support for both hardware and software.

    Internet Access

    The division wants all students to have in home internet access to support virtual learning. To that end, a survey was given to families that ended June 2. All families that indicated they did not have internet access have been followed up on and the division is either, 1) educating families on the use of their existing smart phone hotspots, 2) facilitating families’ access to internet provider discount programs, or 3) subsidizing internet access for families. New families to the division are being asked about their access to devices and internet as they register.

    Technical Support

    The division expanded its customer service help desk to the public last spring. This resource will be expanded with additional personnel and expanded hours. Should students and parents/guardians have questions related to technology, they are encouraged to call 757-527-4819 or email ycsdITsupport@ycsd.york.va.us between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
