Mr. Fries is joining the YMS team as the principal this year after serving as the principal of Coventry Elementary School from 2019-2022. Prior to Coventry, Mr. Fries served as a high school track and cross country coach, 4^th grade teacher, and middle school assistant principal in Newport News Public Schools. Mr. Fries’ wife is a 4^th grade teacher at Mt. Vernon Elementary School and his daughter, Reagan, is a 2^nd grader at Coventry. In his free time, Mr. Fries enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking, going to concerts, spending time at the beach with his family, and watching sports (especially William & Mary football).
