I have been a Special Education Teacher since 2008. I began my career at Poquoson High School and then moved on to Warhill High School. I came to Grafton Middle School in 2016 and LOVE being a CLIPPER!

I graduated with a degree in Communications and Writing in 2006 from Christopher Newport University. I received my Master's in Special Education from Cambridge College in 2009.

I also am an Assistant coach for the Christopher Newport University Softball Team. Go Captains!

I am married and have 2 stepchildren, Jordan and Shelby. My parents are retired teachers. Both of my sisters work for YCSD (My oldest sister, Shannon Butler, is Principal at York High School and my older sister, Lindsay Hagerty, teaches third grade at Seaford Elementary), as well as my brother in law.

I am an avid reader and sports maniac. I love watching college football and basketball, Pro football, and my stepson and nephew play high school sports. My favorite teams are Alabama, Duke, Indianapolis Colts, and Atlanta Braves! I am alos a very passionate coffee drinker!
