2-Year College Information

Community Colleges offer specialized courses of study where a student can earn an associate's degree or certificate in an intensive training program. Many students often make the choice to attend community college before transferring to a 4-year institution allowing them to save money on general education courses, stay close to home, and have smaller class sizes.   • Transfer Virginia - Dual enrollment opportunities offer courses through which you may earn college credits. You must have a 3.0 GPA to enroll in a DE course.     Virginia's Community College Transfer Program - Through system agreements, students who graduate from one of Virginia's 23 community colleges with an associates degree and a minimum grade point average may obtain GUARANTEED admission to more than 30 of the commonwealth's colleges and universities.
