  • Summer Academy - The YCSD Virtual High School Summer Academy is an online learning program designed for rising 9th grade through current 12th grade students. Parents or guardians interested in enrolling their student(s) in the Virtual High School Academy should speak with their student's school counselor and complete a request form hereThe deadline to register is June 16th.

  • Program of Studies - The Secondary Program of Studies Registration and Information Guide is designed to provide students and their parents with information that will assist them in course selection and with long-range academic and career planning.  

    Course Planning - If you were unable to attend our Course Planning Night or would like to review the presentation, we've got you covered!  This presentation will walk you through graduation requirements and diploma types, credits and verified credits, the YCSD Honors and specialty programs, course options, and next steps.  Please see your school counselor for more information.  If you are a rising 9th grade student or family, click here for a presentation specifically catered to you!

    Tutoring List - The York County School Division compiles a list of division tutors each year.  Contact your school counselor with any questions or for additional information.

    Tutoring Funds Available - Virginia families can now apply for funds from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to help support the costs of tutoring and other similar services. K-12 Learning Acceleration grants of $1,500 are available to families of any public, private, parochial or home-school student in grades K-12 residing in Virginia, while qualifying families are eligible for $3,000.  Click here for more information.

    FEV Tutor -  The York County School Division has partnered with FEV Tutor to provide students in grades 3-12 with free, 1:1 online tutoring. In addition to supporting coursework and homework in core subjects such as math, English/Language Arts, science and social studies, FEV Tutor offers support for Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses.  Along with the on-demand support, FEV Tutor also offers weekly sessions between 7 and 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends, so families can select the times that work best for their schedule. To get started with e-tutoring, students should log in to Clever and locate the FEV Tutor app icon to get started. They can then schedule sessions and access live help at any time of the day.  Los materiales están en inglés y español.

    Free Military Tutoring - If you are a military-connected family, you may qualify for no-cost, online tutoring and homework help.  Learners can get 1-to-1 help from an expert tutor—anytime, on any internet-connected device, from anywhere in the world.   

    Khan Academy Free Online Study Resource - Khan Academy offers free practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard for math, art, computer programming, economics, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, finance, history, and more!  Simply select a course or use the search box.  Para acceder a este recurso en español, haga clic aquí.

    Virtual Nerd for Math - Virtual Nerd offers over 1,500 tutorial videos that can be used to supplement learning in middle and high school math classes, from sixth grade to high school. The videos cover topics such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry, along with additional videos on SAT and ACT math topics.

    Pomodoro Time Management Technique - Getting things done on time can be challenging when faced with distractions.  Try this technique for focused work with planned breaks in between.
